You need a peculiar set of half-formed, skinny fingers to text on an iPhone.
And you need a peculiar set of strangely-formed cranial connections to send and receive 303,398 texts on it in one month.

Fring has released the iPhone version of their service today as a free download in the App Store.

Fring allows you to chat and interact with others on a variety of networks including Skype, MSN, GoogleTalk, AIM, Yahoo, Twitter, and ICQ. In addition, Fring offers Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) using the iPhone’s Wi-Fi connection. Features listed include:

  • VoIP (Voice) Calls over WiFi
  • Instant Messaging
  • Integrated dynamic contact list ?with real-time contact availability
  • SIP integration
  • Multiple Connection types

Norway takes on Apple over iTunes

Norway consumer body challenges Apple over iTunes.

So a Norwegian consumer agency has decided to go after Apple planning to take it to court over not being able to use iTunes store downloads on music players other than iPods. I don’t think they’ll get very far with this but they’re hoping other countries will follow suit and do the same thing.

Linksys – what a waste!

I’ve been a loyal fan, customer and follower of Linksys products. Sadly this has now changed. You are losing me as a loyal customer. A customer who has spent good customer dollars on your products and recommended you to everybody. You did this, not me. I gave you guys many chances.

I bought the Linksys WRT-300N router as an upgrade to my aging WRT54G router. All was well once the growing pains and bugs were somewhat sorted out. Then an update to the draft-N spec was released. I slowly learned my new, shiny router would not be upgradeable to the latest draft release. The big brother WRT-350N released shortly after I purchased mine was. The same router (300N) is compatible in Europe (with 2.0), but not in the US.
